David Freireich

With more than twenty years of in-house corporate communications and public relations agency experience, David Freireich is a results-driven and collaborative business partner with a track-record of leading highly effective and strategic integrated communications for industry-leading brands and service- and growth-oriented organizations. Over the course of his career, Dave has developed a deep appreciation for the positive impact effective communications has on an organization’s business objectives and identity.

 

Dave’s areas of expertise include corporate communications, issues management and crisis communications, brand marketing communications, media relations, internal communications, thought leadership, digital media strategy, and stakeholder communications. Throughout his career, he’s managed robust programs, provided critical analysis, demonstrated sound judgment, and delivered results for clients.

 

Today, as Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs, for BrightView Landscapes (NYSE: BV), the U.S.’ largest commercial landscaping company, Dave leads the execution of the company’s internal and external communications program, digital media strategy, and executive communications, and provides leadership and communications support for BrightView’s ESG and DE&I programs. Dave is a trusted partner of and counselor to company leaders. He works closely with the Executive Leadership Team, cross-functional team leaders and business partners to devise holistic messaging and compelling storytelling that helps raise brand awareness, drive growth, inform team members and support local communities.

 

Dave joined BrightView following a 17-year tenure with Aramark (NYSE: ARMK), a FORTUNE 200 global provider of professional services and the largest provider of hospitality services in the country. Most recently, as Vice President, Corporate Communications, he provided strategic communications that promoted, enhanced and protected the Company’s reputation around the world.

 

A recipient of Aramark’s “Ring of Stars” award for Service Excellence, his efforts and those of his team helped elevate Aramark’s profile, while continuously raising the bar for publicity, executive visibility and stakeholder engagement. He, also, is a seasoned crisis communicator, having helped guide the company’s response through watershed issues.

 

He spearheaded public relations and public affairs programming for Aramark’s most prominent business units and projects, including premier sports championships; new business wins and notable account openings; branding initiatives; and technological, customer service and consumer product launches. In addition to leading communications for global events, such as Summer and Winter Olympic Games, Pope Francis’ U.S. Visit, and natural disasters and COVID-19, he served as the communications lead for multiple functional areas and on various task forces.

 

Aramark’s diverse portfolio allowed Dave to collaborate with a wide array of high caliber partners across the business spectrum: Business and Technology (Apple, Starbucks, Clear); Sports and Recreation (Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Chiefs, National Park Service); and Hospitality (Shake Shack, Andrew Zimmern, Cat Cora), to name a few.

 

He began his career at Ketchum Public Relations in New York City, where he supported award winning, brand marketing programs for clients such as Visa, Frito-Lay, and Tropicana.

 

Dave earned his B.S. in Public Relations from S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He resides in the Greater Philadelphia region.
